Peter handles Corporate matters including domestic and cross-border group reorganisations and M&A transactions. He acts for private equity sponsors, management teams, financial institutions and private and public companies across a range of industry sectors. Peter also specialises in advising high growth and start-up companies on how best to scale to attract private equity investment. Before joining Temple Bright in 2024, Peter worked in several international law firms, including Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Herbert Smith Freehills and King & Wood Mallesons, before becoming a partner at PwC in 2015 and then a partner at KPMG in 2019. In both Big Four firms, he combined his corporate practice with running a flexible legal support business. In 2024, Peter collaborated with the Temple Bright co-founders, Tim Summers and Justyn McIlhinney to launch Source by Temple Bright, a flexible legal support business which provides high calibre senior lawyers to clients ranging from SMEs to PLCs. Through Source’s Panel of lawyers and its collaboration with Temple Bright, Source can offer a uniquely cost-effective, high quality one-stop-shop for in-house placements, project teams, and call-off support for discrete legal tasks.
Experience
Relevant experience at Temple Bright and previous firms includes:
- Advised Universal Music Group in relation to its acquisition of EMI Recorded Music from Citi Group.
- Advised the senior management team on the sale of the Eden Springs water cooler business by Rhone Capital to Cott, the NYSE-listed beverage manufacturer.
- Advised a Macquarie-led consortium of investors on the acquisition of the gas-fired CCGT Severn power station from Danish state-owned energy group DONG Energy.
- Advised on the contested takeover of Northern Foods.
- Advised the management team of Moody International in respect of its acquisition by Intertek Group plc.
- Advised the management team of Acteon Group (the oil and gas services group) in respect of its acquisition by KKR.
- Advised the management team of Environmental Resources Management in respect of its acquisition by Charterhouse.
- Advised Investcorp on its disposal of a majority stake in Skrill Group, the online payments processing company, to CVC Capital Partners.
- Advised RBS Special Opportunities Fund on its disposal of Contour Aerospace Ltd (a leading supplier of premium aircraft interiors) to Zodiac Aerospace SA.
- Advised La Senza in relation to their pre-pack administration and related sale of 60 stores to retail group Alshaya.
- Advised First Choice Holidays (now TUI Travel) on the acquisition of Asiarooms.com, a leading business-to-consumer online accommodation retailer in Singapore and Thailand.
- Advised the National Bank of Greece on its acquisition of Vojvodjanska Banka in Serbia.
