Paul handles Real Estate matters, advising clients on all aspects of commercial real estate work across a broad range of sectors and asset classes, including purpose-built student accommodation, build to rent, co-living and mixed-use retail and leisure. His advice covers acquisitions and disposals, landlord and tenant matters, and real estate development. He specialises in work on both ground-up real estate development projects and the repurposing and redevelopment of existing buildings, advising developers, investors and other stakeholders on all stages of the real estate development process. His advice spans all types of transaction structures including forward funding, forward purchase, promotion, collaboration and joint venture agreements. Before joining Temple Bright in 2025, Paul worked at Taylor Wessing in the City for over 23 years, where he was a partner for over 10 years and most recently co-head of the Living sub-sector group.
Experience
Relevant experience at his previous firm includes:
- Advising a UK-based developer on a contractual joint venture with a land owner and £153m forward funding deal with an investor owned by private equity funds for the delivery of 1,078 purpose-built student accommodation beds, 131 co-living beds and 6,000 sq ft of retail space adjacent to the University of Warwick’s campus.
- Advising a privately held investment firm on its entry to the UK logistics market with a £550m acquisition and forward funding of a portfolio of UK logistics assets from a privately owned real estate investor and developer.
- Advising a UK-based developer on a £65m forward funding deal with one of the world’s largest diversified real estate investment managers for the delivery of 319 student rooms and amenity space in Manchester.
- Advising a joint venture between a real estate investment and capital advisory firm and a leading pan-European opportunistic real estate private equity investment manager in connection with the acquisition, financing and value add asset management of four UK retails parks.
- Advising a private individual on the conditional acquisition and disposal of strategic land for a major new data centre campus outside London.
