Cycas to operate new Moxy Liverpool City Centre developed by Niveda Realty – Cycas’ second property in the city since the hotel management company launched ten years ago.

Cycas Hospitality has signed a management contract with London-based real estate development and investment firm Niveda Realty and Marriott International to operate the new Moxy Liverpool City Centre. Due to open in 2020, this will be Cycas’ first standalone Moxy hotel in Europe, having previously coupled the millennial-focused brand with the longer-stay focused Residence Inn to create double-decker hotels in Amsterdam and Slough.

Moxy Liverpool City Centre will be the third Moxy hotel in Cycas’ portfolio and strengthens the hotel management company’s strategy to triple its European portfolio by 2022 to cover mainstream as well as extended-stay hospitality sectors.

The 153-room Moxy Liverpool City Centre will be within a five minute walk from both the recently upgraded Liverpool Lime Street train station and Liverpool Central railway station, ensuring easy access to the city’s business district, vibrant shopping areas, restaurants and bars, as well as arts and entertainment venues. The hotel will incorporate meeting room and gym space, and will have Moxy’s signature combination of stylish design and approachable service, offering modern-day essentials such as fast and free WiFi and internet TV streaming capabilities, all at an affordable price point.

Asli Kutlucan, Senior Partner Acquisitions & Development at Cycas Hospitality, said: “Cycas started its journey a decade ago in Liverpool and we are thrilled to be expanding our footprint in this vibrant destination at a time when its regeneration projects have cemented the city’s position as a key destination for tourists and businesses alike. We are therefore confident that Moxy’s bold brand values and playful spirit will appeal to visitors keen to work hard and play hard in the city centre.

“This deal for our first standalone Moxy is a strong endorsement of our position as a preferred operator for international brands and investors. While we are already known for having pioneered the branded extended-stay hotel concept and successfully developing dual-branded properties, this deal marks a new stage in Cycas’ history. Our extensive knowledge of the hotel market throughout the UK and Europe, as well as our team’s experience in asset management, ensures we can provide a best-in-class operational service for a broad range of hotel products and concepts. We are pleased to welcome our new partners, Niveda Realty, and look forward to their support in helping us achieve our ambitious expansion plans over the coming years.”

Bhavik Jayendrakumar Shah, Director at Niveda Realty, added: “Our understanding of the evolving real estate market and travel trends prompted us to develop this prime property into a modern hotel, and we believe Moxy’s blend of character, comfort and community will help us meet the demands of this burgeoning city.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Cycas Hospitality on our first project together and look forward to working with their expert team to unlock our new Moxy hotel’s full potential. We remain committed to delivering many more exciting hotel projects in partnership with Cycas Hospitality and Marriott International within the UK and beyond.”

Cycas Hospitality already owns and operates Staybridge Suites Liverpool, which opened in June 2008 by the city’s famous Albert Dock.

Cycas Hospitality was advised on the deal by London-based solicitors Temple Bright, whose team was led by hotels specialist Alyona Antonenko.
