Deborah Latimer

Deborah handles contentious Pensions matters. She has a broad range of experience acting for employers, advisers, trustees and representative members in the High Court and before the Pensions Ombudsman. Deborah is a member of the Pensions Litigation Committee of the Association of Pension Lawyers and has been recognised for many years by The Legal 500. Deborah trained and qualified at Mayer Brown in the City, where she specialised in pensions disputes and became a solicitor advocate before taking up an in-house role specialising in litigation at the Board of the Pension Protection Fund. After 5 years at the PPF Deborah returned to private practice, joining employment and pensions niche firm Signet Partners in 2013. She joined Temple Bright in 2020.

Experience

Relevant experience includes:

  • Advising a representative member in Beddoe proceedings and interim arrangements relating to proceedings aimed at clarifying rates of pension increase in the Scheme.
  • Advising an independent trustee Chair in connection with a TPR investigation.
  • Acting for trustees to recover a significant overpayment from the Scheme and securing a mediated solution in the underlying claim against the Scheme’s administrators.
