Helen Edwards

Helen advises on Real Estate matters. She advises clients on investment acquisitions and disposals, premises for major retail and leisure clients, development work (including options, site assembly and forward funding) and real estate finance. Helen has been noted as a Leading Individual in Chambers UK and named in The Legal 500. Before joining Temple Bright in 2019, Helen was a partner and head of real estate at a Top 100 firm, having originally trained and worked at Jones Day in the City.

Experience

Relevant experience at Temple Bright and previous firms includes:

• Acting for a national gym operator on the majority of its new property acquisitions and the ongoing estate management of its property portfolio of over 200 gyms.
• Acting for a major retailer on the majority of its store acquisitions and ongoing estate management of its portfolio of over 230 stores, and on the development and letting and subsequent sale of its head office.
• Acting for a charity on a complex conditional redevelopment agreement at its head office site.
• Acting on the real estate aspects of the refinancing in excess of £60m of a client’s portfolio of over 200 properties.
• Advising a London-based property development company on its portfolio of mixed use properties including retail parks and student accommodation, including the forward funding, development and sale of over 400 student accommodation units.
• Acting for a property investment company on its head office relocation, and on the property aspects of the purchase of a portfolio of student accommodation developments.
