Temple Bright advises on the sale of H2 Gambling Capital to Burghclere

09/07/2026

Temple Bright has advised the owner of H2 Gambling Capital, the leading reference data source for the global gambling industry, on its sale to Burghclere, a family office that invests in Data and Analytics businesses.

H2 Gambling Capital is the betting and gaming sector’s most trusted market intelligence provider with market sizing and forecasting models spanning over 150 national and state gambling markets and more than 100 listed operators and suppliers.

Founded in 2008, H2’s data has become the reference point for industry leaders, cited by major operators, regulators and trade bodies across the globe.

Burghclere is a family office investment vehicle that invests directly in data and information service companies. It was founded by Charlie Teviot, an entrepreneur who built With Intelligence from a print publication into one of the leading global data and information platforms serving the asset management industry, exiting to S&P global in 2026.

Burghclere also owns EGR Global, the leading B2B news and events business for the gaming sector, and the transaction will bring the two businesses into one portfolio to create the leading data intelligence platform to serve the gambling industry.

“Joining Burghclere is a key milestone for H2,” said Ed Birkin, owner and Managing Director of H2 Gambling Capital. “It allows us to accelerate our strategy and continue serving our customers with the highest-quality data.”

“H2 has established itself as the industry reference for critical gambling data sets. Together with EGR, we will set the standard for intelligence in the gambling sector and I look forward to working with Ed and the H2 team to realise this vision,” said Charlie Teviot, owner of Burghclere.

The Temple Bright team advising Ed Birkin on the sale was led by partner Stuart Hutson (corporate). Stuart Hutson said: “We were delighted to advise on this deal – a highly significant one for the sector, creating a strong platform for the further grown of H2. It was a real pleasure working with Ed and his colleagues, and we will be watching the future progress of H2 with great interest.”

Ed Birkin said: “Warmest thanks to Stuart and the team at Temple Bright for pulling out all the stops to get this transaction over the line within our timescale, maintaining a pragmatic and collaborative approach throughout.”

Temple Bright was launched in Bristol in 2010 using a tech-enabled, streamlined business model. It opened its second office in London EC2 in 2013 and now has more than 75 partners, evenly spread across the two locations. The firm advises clients across a range of sectors, with significant expertise in technology and data.
