Jasmina Yang

Jasmina handles Financial Services matters (advisory). She has extensive experience of supporting financial institutions, advising them on legal risk, UK and EU regulation, new product development and related contracts. She is a member of our ESG, Compliance & Investigations team. Before joining Temple Bright in 2019, Jasmina practised as a senior in-house lawyer at the Royal Bank of Canada, advising on a broad range of legal and FCA (non-contentious) matters, most recently in the context of Brexit. Prior to this, Jasmina worked in private practice for many years as a financial services and markets lawyer in the City at Travers Smith and Taylor Wessing.

Experience

Relevant experience at Temple Bright includes:

• Advising an EU located investment manager on the impact of MiFID 2 on its automated investment management service and related UK cross-border / branch passporting issues post-Brexit.
• Advising an agency stockbroker on the development of an algorithmic trading product, including FCA perimeter issues and amending its client terms and conditions.
• Advising an online platform for the hiring and payment of freelance journalists on the potential application of relevant EU Directives and UK regulations to the platform’s services.
• Advising an overseas bank on establishing a UK subsidiary and its related FCA authorisation application.
• Providing external legal support to the compliance function of a group of digital venture capital companies relating to their start-up businesses on topics such as CASS, SMCR and other FCA prudential and conduct of business requirements.
