Simon Jones

Simon handles Corporate matters. He has two decades’ experience of advising high growth companies, entrepreneurs and investors on all aspects of equity fundraising, company acquisitions and sales, and general company and shareholder related legal matters. He advises clients operating in a broad range of sectors and has particular experience working with technology driven companies and venture capital and growth capital funds on equity funding rounds, with a reputation for providing highly responsive, pragmatic and commercially focused advice. He has been recognised as a Leading Individual by the Legal 500. Simon is especially passionate about supporting companies and investors in the “impact investing” space, who are aiming to generate a positive social or environmental impact in addition to financial gains. Before joining Temple Bright in 2024, Simon was a partner in the corporate team at Osborne Clarke in Bristol, having trained at the firm and qualified there in 2007 before joining the partnership ten years later.

Relevant experience at Temple Bright and his previous firm includes:

  • Advising LoveHomeSwap, an online home swapping platform founded by Debbie Wosskow OBE, on various rounds of equity funding (including MMC) and advising its shareholders on the sale of the company to Wyndham Worldwide.
  • Advising the shareholders of Bristol-based Synergy Creative, one of Europe’s leading employee engagement agencies, on the sale of the company to McCann.
  • Advising institutional venture capital investor shareholders on the sale of Imagen, a media asset management company, to Thomson Reuters.
  • Advising Funding Circle, an online business lending market platform, on multiple growth equity funding rounds, including its $150m Series E round.
  • Advising BGF, the UK’s largest national growth capital investor, on equity investments in fast growing businesses, from start-up through to scale-up.
  • Advising UK and US based venture capital and growth capital funds on venture capital investments, from Seed through to Series A and later stage rounds.
  • Leading a firmwide start-up initiative focused on supporting early-stage companies in their growth journey.
